Arthritis Diet

In simple terms arthritis is an inflammation of the joints in the body. It is a health condition that consists of over 100 different types of arthritis. It can take away your ability to move your joints freely and can even deprive you of the ability to enjoy the basic activities of daily life. But a balanced diet that includes a wide variety of fresh foods will help your overall health and give you a feeling of well-being. Increasing the amount of omega-3 fatty acids in your diet may also help to provide some benefits for people with rheumatoid arthritis, any form of arthritis will benefit from these dietary methods. Integrate the nightshade vegetable into your diet. The nightshade is a low-calorie vegetable that is filled with nutrients. Consumption of this vegetable seems to be a beneficial addition to a healthy arthritis diet.

Foods which are not "arthritis friendly" are usually low in fiber content. Commercially produced food, red meat, sugar and milk are all low fiber foods. Foods low in fiber content hardly flows through the digestive tract. And any food substance trapped in the digestive tract is a potential poison. Acid in your body gives you more arthritic pain. You need to move your body to a more alkaline body. This is done by avoiding those foods which create acid in your body and eating those that produce alkaline residues.Patients suffering from arthritis have often been found to be lacking in essential vitamins and minerals. Therefore it makes sense they would need to pay more attention to their diet. Hence, the introduction of the 'arthritis diet'. A rheumatoid arthritis diet is such an alternative. There has always been much discussion about rheumatoid arthritis diets although you should not see it as a diet in the traditional sense.

Another way is eliminating all your suspected problem foods for a week and then selectively reintroducing them into your diet, no more than one each 24 hours. When the foods causing delayed sensitivities are removed from the diet, the body goes through a withdrawal period, similar to a drug withdrawal period. The first step in arthritis is to change your diet to a diet of raw foods that is living foods or plant foods, preferably uncooked; predominately fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. Vitamin C and other antioxidants earn their name by helping to prevent the aging process, which is accelerated by cell-attacking free radicals that come from oxygen molecules. Inflammation is believed to release cell-attacking free radicals that do more damage to the joint, unless anti-oxidant vitamins are there to stop the radicals from doing harm. It takes about 7 days to eliminate all traces of a given food from your body after you stop eating it. That is why the elimination phase lasts a week.

The hypersensitivity period begins at this point, so that is why the testing by reintroduction begins then. This might seem like a large amount of fats but these fats are in the food you eat, fish oil can be eaten in many fatty fish like salmon and many other fish. And because you avoid fats from fried and processed foods you will probably eat less fat in total. you should also avoid alcohol and coffee.
